Another storm nears but where's free text warnings law required from telcos?

As the country braces for typhoon Chedeng, a party-list lawmaker on Thursday urged the government to fast-track the implementation of the law enabling Filipinos to receive free text alerts on their mobile phones. Bayan Muna party-list Rep. Neri Colmenares lamented that the government has yet to implement Republic Act 10639 or the Free Mobile Disaster Alerts Law even though it has been signed by President Benigno Aquino III almost a year ago.
