Miriam took pride in defying Marcos in seeking post in int’l tribunal

Four years ago while applying for a magistrate's seat in the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago took pride in what she called an act of "judicial independence" during Ferdinand Marcos' martial law regime. On Thursday, she announced she was running for president with the late strongman's son and namesake as her running mate.
