Palace: Up to DOJ to allow jamming of cell signals at New Bilibid Prison

Malacañang on Saturday said it will leave it to the Department of Justice to decide whether to jam mobile phone signals inside the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City to prevent drug lord-inmates from continuing drug-related transactions. Deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte said that while such a proposal is sound, the final decision is with the DOJ, which has jurisdiction over the Bureau of Corrections that runs the national penitentiary.
