64 New Cases Of AH1N1 in the Philippines

The Department of Health have recorded an additional 64 cases of Influenza A(H1N1) within the previous 24 hours. The Philippines has now a total of 311 cases infected by the virus.

In these new cases, 40 of whom are women and 24 men. There age is between 3 to 62-years. In terms of nationalites, 62 are Filipinos and two are foreigners.

The DOH, however will still not declare a "public health emergency" despite the immidiate rising of new cases. According to Health Sec. Francisco Duque III, despite the rapid increase of A (H1N1), the cases are considered mild cases. All of whom are quickly recovering and some cases no longer needs to take TAMIFLU (a drug that .

Duque further added that the declaration of state of calamity in Jaen, Nueva Ecija are recent decisions of the local government of Nueva Ecija and are not recommendations to DOH.
