Ombudsman orders graft probe on Abaya, Vitangcol for MRT deal

The Ombudsman has ordered the conduct of preliminary investigation against Transportation Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya, former Metro Rail Transit general manager Al Vitangcol III and several others in connection with the allegedly anomalous grant in 2012 of the MRT's $1.15-million-a-month maintenance contract without public bidding.
