Joint Statement Of Claudine Barreto and Raymart Santiago

Claudine Baretto and Raymart Santiago denies rumors that they are already separated. Speculation of their split-up happens when Claudine found out that her joint bank account with Raymart ended up in a zero balance. Aside from her sudden outburst at the bank manager, she did not comment on how did her account ended up with a zero balance. Claudine's lawyer said in an interview that they will investigate as to who withdrew the money.

As of today, Claudine or Raymart did not comment on the bank incident but released a joint statement about their marriage.

“In recent days, there have been numerous negative rumors about our marriage and our relationship, all of which have caused us, our children, and our families undue stress, strain, and unnecessary tension.

“In order to dispel all these unfounded innuendos, we now publicly declare, in the simplest and clearest terms that:

“WE ARE STILL TOGETHER, we have not separated, we love each other, and we both value and cherish our marriage and relationship.

“Any issues that we may have are private, and do not detract from, nor diminish, the strength of our marriage. We ask that the public allow us to deal with our minor concerns without the glare and glee of media speculation that only hurt us and those we love.

“We are both deeply committed to our two (2) children, whom we love unconditionally. As concerned and devoted parents, we shall zealously protect their privacy, and their right to be untouched by malice and gossip. We plead with the public to respect their rights: they are innocent children unjustly harmed by the baseless gossip about us.

“We hope this JOINT STATEMENT settles and lays to rest all questions about us as a couple, and as individuals.”

We just hope that Claudine and Raymart can surpass all the problems that they are going through.

Former First Gentleman Charged of Corruption

Graft charges were filed Thursday against former First Gentleman Jose Miguel “Mike” Arroyo, former Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Ronaldo Puno, and former Philippine National Police Chief Director General Jesus Versoza before the Office of the Ombudsman in connection with the purchase by the PNP of two used choppers in 2009.

Also charged were 16 PNP officers.

In the complaint filed by three senators, Arroyo and his co-respondents were accused of conspiring with each other in defrauding the government of P62.67 million through the purchase of two used helicopters passed off as brand-new.

“Jose Miguel Arroyo conspired with the private individuals and officers of the PNP and this conspiracy violates the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act and the Government Procurement Act,’’ the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee stated in its findings, the basis of the complaint.

“It is quite clear that these helicopters were used extensively by the Arroyos during the 2004 elections. From the time these were imported into the Philippines until the time that these were sold to the PNP, the Arroyos used them repeatedly, extensively, and fully. Walang kaduda-duda (No doubt),” Senate Blue Ribbon Committee Chairman Teofisto L. Guingona III said.

“It is clear that Mike Arroyo, as the true owner of the helicopters, took advantage of the PNP and robbed the Filipino people of 62 million pesos for used helicopters,” Guingona added.

Pacquiao is 80% Ready

Manny Pacquiao feels he is already in fighting form a little over a month before he collides with Juan Manuel Marquez on Nov. 12 in Las Vegas.

"Eighty percent," Pacquiao told Top Rank TV moments after his arrival in Los Angeles on Saturday night (late Sunday morning in Manila).

The remaining 20 percent will be added when he kicks off his training at the Wild Card Boxing Club starting Monday.

Pacquiao spent three weeks in Baguio City under Freddie Roach’s watch and in the remaining weeks, the Filipino will be made to double or even triple his efforts as Roach will field a fresher batch of sparmates.

In Baguio City, the 32-year-old Pacquiao sparred mainly with Venezuelan Jorge Linares and Roach told the on-line edition of The Ring magazine that their styles were made for each other.

Roach said Linares is “smart” like Marquez and “every punch that he throws has a meaning with it.”

While Linares’s style is not really a copy-cat of Marquez’s counter-punching ways, the 26-year-old puncher remains “very, very formidable,” noted Roach.

Marquez, meanwhile, is also in the thick of preparations in Mexico City under Nacho Beristain and a team of other experts from the fields of nutrition and conditioning.

Marquez, 38, said he was forced to tap these experts owing to the magnitude of the Pacquiao rubber match.
